What this book is
The National Electrical Code runs over a thousand pages, is revised every three years, and every jurisdiction adopts it with its own amendments. No book can contain it, and a book that tried would teach the worst habit of all: depending on a copy that ages.
This book does the opposite. It teaches the logic the code is built on, so you can work through situations no book ever got around to covering.
It is not an installation manual. It doesn't tell you how to bend a conduit or wire a device. It explains why the code demands what it demands — and that's the difference between memorizing and understanding.

About the author
Pablo trained as an electrician at the Institute of Business and Technology in Santa Clara, California. He owns Astral Electrical Contractor, holds a California C-10 license, and has more than ten years in the field.
He was an advisor for the Electrical Installations program at Aprende Institute, aimed at Spanish speakers in the United States. That teaching experience is where this book comes from.
He's also a lawyer — which is probably why the NEC never looked to him like a list of rules to memorize, but a regulatory text you have to know how to read.
