Generators & Backup Power

Backup power, done the right way

A generator is only as good as its install. Sizing, the transfer switch and code compliance are what keep it safe and reliable.

Right-sized for your home

Too small and it can't carry your loads; oversized and you overpay. We size it to what you actually need to keep on.

Automatic transfer switch

A proper transfer switch flips you to backup safely — and prevents deadly back-feed onto utility lines.

Whole-home or essentials

Keep the whole house running, or just the must-haves — fridge, heat, well pump, medical, internet.

PSPS & storm ready

In wildfire-shutoff country, backup power isn't a luxury — it's how you stay safe and comfortable.

Fuel & placement

Natural gas or propane, placed to code with proper clearances and a clean gas/electrical tie-in.

Permitted & inspected

Done on the record — protecting your home, warranty and insurance.

Questions, answered

What size generator do I need?

It depends on what you want to keep running. We do a load assessment — whole-home comfort vs. essentials like the fridge, heat, well pump, medical devices and internet — and size the generator and transfer switch to match, so you don't overpay or come up short.

Do I need an automatic transfer switch?

For a safe, hands-off standby system, yes. A transfer switch isolates your home from the grid before the generator powers up, which is required to prevent dangerous back-feed onto utility lines — and it switches you over automatically.

Natural gas or propane?

Either — we install both. Natural gas is convenient if you have a line; propane is great where you don't. We handle the placement, clearances and coordination.

Is it permitted?

Always. Backup power involves electrical (and often gas) work that must be permitted and inspected to protect your home, warranty and insurance.

Will it protect me during a PSPS shutoff?

Yes — that's exactly what a standby system is for. When the utility cuts power for wildfire safety, your generator keeps your home running automatically.
